Team Roles

The following pages define the various roles in the musical worship team. Definitions may differ in other Churches, and these pages will be constantly evolving as training events and discussions continue. This is a basic understanding for this time at OBC. Knowing your role is more than knowing where your instrument or voice fits in. Your role also has a spiritual counterpart.

Although there is a need to be expressive and add suggestions and musical input It is really important to be attentive to the leadership structure both established in the Church and also on any given Sunday. This will help hold space for the Spirit to be free to move as He wishes. As will be explained in the following pages, leaders need to feel well supported, and understanding your role will help you to enable the leader bring the whole church into the place they feel God is leading. There needs to be a spirit of grace and unity as this will be portrayed to the congregation from the stage.
